Easing Technological Transition at Beaumont Tiles: A Training and Change Program

Client: Beaumont Tiles, a premier building supplies company.

Challenge: Beaumont Tiles embarked on a significant business transformation, integrating a new MPOS (Modern Point of Sale) system and rolling out Microsoft D365 across all their retail stores. This represented not just a technical change but also a significant operational shift, requiring a comprehensive training and change management program.

Solution: Our team partnered with Beaumont Tiles to manage this complex transition. Recognising the need for a multifaceted approach, we began by devising a communication plan, outlining how and when information about the changes would be disseminated to the retail teams.

To supplement the communication plan, we also created a comprehensive communication booklet. This booklet served as a reference guide , detailing the upcoming changes, their impact, and the support available throughout the transition.

Understanding that communication alone is not enough for such a significant change, we designed and delivered a Roadshow. This provided an opportunity for hands-on experience and face-to-face interaction with the new systems, as well as a platform for addressing any queries or concerns.

The centerpiece of our solution, however, was an in-depth, on-demand eLearning tool. This tool provided step-by-step instructions, informative videos, and practical activities for using the new MPOS system and Microsoft D365. It was designed to be accessible whenever and wherever the teams needed, allowing them to learn at their own pace and refer back to it as a resource in their daily operations.

Results: The training and change program significantly eased the transition to the new systems. The communication plan and booklet ensured that all teams were well-informed about the changes. The Roadshow helped address concerns and build familiarity with the new systems and steps ahead, reducing resistance to the change.

The eLearning tool proved invaluable, providing teams with a readily accessible resource to help them adapt to the new systems. The combination of instructions, videos, and practical activities catered to different learning styles, enhancing understanding and retention.
