Transforming Training: Innovations in Program Design, LMS Creation, and eLearning Design for Energy Efficiency

Client: Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) & Master Plumbers, pioneering organisations for upskilling and training within the plumbing industry.

Challenge: In the rapidly evolving landscape of energy-efficient technologies, the plumbing industry was confronted with the need to enhance its expertise, specifically in areas like the installation of solar-powered hot water systems and heat pumps. An extensive industry-wide upskilling initiative was needed in a government initiative.

Solution: We collaborated closely with industry experts from PICAC & Master Plumbers to devise a comprehensive training solution. This included a two-day immersive program aimed at hands-on exposure to energy-efficient technologies. All course content and assessments were designed in line with the standards of Registered Training Organisations (RTO), ensuring top-quality learning outcomes.

A significant achievement of this collaboration was the creation of detailed eLearning modules for the three units of the program. These modules, crafted with industry insights and instructional design expertise, offered an immersive learning experience covering the intricate aspects of energy-efficient practices.

Moreover, we conceptualised, designed, and implemented a robust, user-friendly Learning Management System (LMS). This mobile-optimised LMS is a major accomplishment, hosting all eLearning courses and assessments and facilitating easy access for continuous learning and development. The user-friendly interface and engaging design of each unit within the LMS encouraged self-paced learning and enhanced learner engagement.

Results: Our partnership with PICAC & Master Plumbers culminated in a significant upskilling of the plumbing industry. The two-day training program and the eLearning modules imparted practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for installing and maintaining energy-efficient systems, thereby raising industry standards. Launching the mobile-optimised, user-friendly LMS marked another milestone, enabling ongoing professional development and keeping the industry updated with technological advancements in energy efficiency.
